Hi all, Iv'e got to tell you lot what happened to day. Whilst filling up with petrol at my local Tesco ,Golf gti driver pulls up and says that my Cupra 16v green machine is one of the worst cars ever made:) i replied whilst at the cash register yes it is a peace of **** just like yours engine brakes etc. The fella continued to argue untill the girl on the till said super car mate love the colour HA HA HA HA :):):):)It proves that there are alot of moron's around who have got now idea about motors and speack before they think.
Thats the one thing i like about the green Mk2 Cupra's you either love u'm or hate u'm:)

my sister calls mine a wanna be golf ( another thing we argue about lol ) i never want a golf donr mind the bits under the hood etc but dont like the shape etc

The thing i like about the cupras is you just don't see mant around any more.
As far as i know there are only 2 in huntingdon mine and another fella, allways gives thumbs up when we see each other :). Were golfs are common, how many do you see every day ,hundreds i like being abit different and not going with the flow, the only problem is what car to get when mine gives up the ghost :)

haha excellent mate. i love the fact that you never see ibiza cupras around but always see chavvy golfs around who dont have a clue.

Fantastic.

Had a similar incident with a MK3 16V owner in Southend once, he giving it large about how rubbsih Seat's were so challeneged him to point out why so he came back saying everything, Engine's, Brakes, Chassis then stopped and looked puzzled as to why me and my mate (who also had a cupra 16V) were pissing ourselves laughing.

Mate said "you going to tell him or shall I" so I enlightened him that the Engine Brakes and Gearbox where the same as in his car and that the car shared the Chassis with a Polo which made him go a bit red, he wouldn't have it so asked him to open his bonnet as I would mine, needless to say he got ripped to shreads :funk:.

I do love the total underestimation people have of these cars.

Very funny, i had something similar with a buy at work when i bought my LCR , he laughed at me and said they were sh*t. Until i pointed out that it had the same engine as his Audi TT and everything under the bonnet was audi and VW parts. And when my remapped LCR cruised past him on the way home and he struggled to keep up. Hehe. Badge snobs usually know nothing........

What gets me so much about the Mk 2 Cupra's is how they never seem to get the praise that they deserve. When the MK 2 Ibiza Cupra's were brought out they were against the clio williams,
I can't remember there being a glowing report about my car but they are just fantastic.
Most clio willams are nackered now where the Ibiza's are all going strong, when you put spacers on the back they handle like a hot hatch should.
I just think the like's of fifth gear just did not do the car justice.

used to be 3 in huntingdon cos i used to own one!! I only ever used to see a black 16v one. Would that be you?

i've had an r reg ginger 8v and a p reg ginger valver then had a j reg black mk2 golf gti and now a grey f reg 205 gti i've seen a kiwi one in tesco's car park quie a bit. you parked next to my golf once!!

sure i remember your mk2 golf parked next to me near the child spaces:D
also seen your cooper cupra too:)
I see that you have gone back to a real drivers car 205Gti, i used to own a 1600 blue one with
blue fondamental wheels on. Brill cars handle well bit tail happy on the limit though  than then i owned a blue mini pick up turbo that i crashed near offord:cry:

this one is polybushed up front with group n rear mounts, 1.6 gearbox, l&b'd flywheel and a 4-1 mandrel bent exhaust manifold. it shifts a bit!! and as for that comment about golfs being dog turds? how so?I never once saw any more than 2 mk2 golfs in the whole time I had it! the 2 cars are so similar to drive that an owner of an ibiza should never be a wonna be golf owner and vice versa! i've actually owned both 8 and 16v version's of both along with a 212bp g60 corrado. I have noticed one hoooj thing though! the whole time I owned the golf I always sed to have to justify it by saying " well actually this is a late model 16v so it's worth more ect", but with the ibiza and even more so with the pug I just used to get admiring glances!

dont get me wrong im not slating golfs what so ever. they are good cars and when they are modified properly they are even better. where i live there are loads of golfs, mk2`s and mk3`s chavved up to the hilt and they look shocking! i apologise if ive upset anyboby.
