I'm looking out for a new car to replace the wife's Corsa and I was wondering if anybody knew of any plans to fit the Mk5 Ibiza with the new 1.2 TSI engine as they've fitted in the other VAG stable mates i.e VW Polo, Skoda Fabia and Audi A1?

Drive the Deal (drivethedeal.com) is showing the new 1.2TSI engine available to order. It also shows a nice £1200 discount on the 1.2 TSI Sport :D

OK, so on the bocanegra, wheels become silver, curtain airbags are discontinued and bluetooth with USB is standard with a refridgerated glovebox too. So the bluetooth and USB, does that include the AUX connection too? Who cares about a refridgerated glovebox anyway, the thing is so small you couldn't put any thing in there to refridgerate anyway. I am soooo glad that only a few ppl will have the titanium alloys now (more exclusive in my opinion anyway) and side curtain airbags are no major loss even though I am glad I have them in mine. Not too many changes to the bocanegra then it seems but cost is still kept up for SEAT. Clever folks they are I tell you......................

Glad to hear that SEAT are increasing some items as standard on some models at least.
My 59 plate SE didn't come with folding mirrors or alarm.
I paid for the "optional extra" of the Bi-xenons and am surprised why they would want to drop that from the options list of the SE models?
The refrigerated glove box would keep your KitKat cool but not much else. My previous car a Mk.4had climate control as standard together with a good size under seat storage box now these items are all optional extra's.The glove box was much larger in the Mk.4 as well.
Sorry if I seem like I am moaning but must stress that I love my Mk.5 today the same as the day I got it (7 months & 13,000 miles ago).

Specs now on the seat.co.uk website. £13.5k is a pretty decent price with DSG.

Driven a very similar 1.2 with DSG in a new Skoda and that thing was punchier than I thought. Plus the economy was great. This one had come all the way from the EU and was only in the garage for one day!

The emissions from this engine are very good also. 119g/km makes it free of road tax for the first year and only £30 per year after that. Pretty good really.
