New car is always a new car.
And honestly, i ve driven few 280, 290 and there is not so much of a difference compared to 1.8tsi.
Cupra is over hyped and 1.8tsi very much underrated.

Cupra is great right from the show room floor.
1.8tsi is very good on stock and with few tweeks awesome.

There's a massive difference between a stock 1.8 TSI and a stock 2.0 TSI Cupra.

Are you out of your mind?

And so what if you can tune the 1.8 TSI? You can tune the 2.0 TSI to over 400bhp without a big turbo. The Cupra is a better car full stop, no argument. The engine is superior stock or tuned and you get an LSD plus many more goodies.

The 1.8 tsi stage 2 remaps to only ~ 250 hp. Still a far cry from the 276/286/296 the cupra delivers :(. You'll need a few more tweaks to get it to cupra level.

Standard versus standard they're in a different league. Not just power, but brakes and handling are much improved. Modified FR versus standard Cupra - still not even close. That's speaking from experience too.

Anybody thinking otherwise is kidding themselves.

FRs are very nice and you won't be disappointed, but a Cupra is that extra bit more special.

100 kg lighter, DSG other gear ....
You know ....

stage 1 250, stage 2 270 in Poland On stage 2 just like cupra stock ....

only 230 hp

Up to 150 km / h time like cupra Stock 280 ...

Wow. That's a revelation. The performance of a stage 1/2 1.8 FR is better than a stock 1.8 FR . So , by that reasoning, a stage 1/2 Cupra would be better than a stock Cupra? You'll be telling me the earth is round next...

Do not you understand ??
This is a comparison
Seat leon fr 1.8 apr stage 1 vs Seat leon Cupra

You are missing the point, the OP's original post concerned stock vehicles, i.e unmodified. You are putting a modified car against unmodified, which is hardly fair is it? Fair comparison would be stock v stock, stage 1 Vs stage 1 and so on.

In real life the Cupra would still nail it. A tuned 184 Diesel is the only real competition.

I ran a tuned 184 TDI before the Cupra, nice but it wasn't even close.
Done a few long journeys so far and I found that the 184 overtakes with more pull than than the Cupra. I miss the diesel torque! I'm starting to think the Cupra was the wrong choice, the power is hard to use in day to day use.

It's probably partly due to getting used to a different driving style between the TDI and the Cupra. Going a bit off topic now... anyhoo....

I heard that you can tune the 1.0l turbo go over 250bhp - it's really light aswell so no doubt will be better than a cupra. Maybe that's worth a look?

lmao. ok. sure.
as has already been mentioned on here in response to you, you are drastically missing the point.
"not much difference" - so a 0-60 in 5.8seconds compared to 7.7 isn't much? The sports suspension and differential also means nothing?
if there wasn't much difference then why do all decent car manufacturers make a sport version of their normal cars?
Someone sounds a little bitter that they couldn't buy a cupra :p

The lsd on the cupra makes it worth it for me over the 1.8 I love that feeling of being pulled round a corner!

I laughed with glee when I first went into a roundabout and floored it to turn right and it just kept gripping more and more and more. Fantastic.
