tbh the FWD Ateca corners securely and doesn’t roll too much when you throw it through roundabouts and the like

I've got a 2.0Tdi 150Bhp on order in Lava Blue, being built week 7. I got £1200 off list and more than likely i'm going to stick a 3 stage box on it pushing the 150 to 200 for £499, also got £1000 for my 2014 Leon FR and £500 off for test drive its all about the deal.

Can't wait for it to arrive now. Been in Leon Fr's for 9 years now so i was hoping for a change. The Mk3 Leon will be getting all the stuff on the Ateca as well.
Lead times are all for the 2wd 1.0Lt engines and 1.4 petrols Act due to engine shortages but i believe these are now starting to come through.

Good Luck

Does anyone know when the 1.5 TSI engine will be available in the Ateca to replace the 1.4 unit ? I see that the 1.5 engine will be an option in the new Ibiza announced today. I believe that waiting times for the 1.4 engine models are lengthy. Is it likely that Seat will just upgrade the spec or will we have to wait for an Ateca Mk 2 in a couple of years or so ? If VAG is interested in cost savings I cannot see the merit in producing both the old and new engines. Thanks

This is what is holding me back from further Ateca consideration.

Judging by the road tests of the new Golf with the 1.5 engines, the performance is identical and the improvement in economy/CO2 is not significant.

Granted but from VW's point of view I cannot see how it can be economic to produce both formats unless they are sourced from different regions / countries. There is clearly not a stockpile of the 1.4 version to be used up.
