Due out next year with 296 bhp 0-60 in 5.1 secs (dsg) and 5.4 manual g/box .It's 60 kilos lighter .40 mpg and Approx £30 k .

Will we see the next Cupra with similiar do you think ? Understand it will also be lighter ,but will it have 4WD ? ;)

I don't think the Cupra will be 4WD. I know for a fact that there are a bunch of 4WD S3s out there but I've never seen a 4WD Cupra or FR. Maybe it can be a special edition 4WD one or something? Or an option like it is with 1 and 3-series BMWs in Egypt?

296 sounds too much for just an S3, but we shall see I take it with a pinch of salt as im still waiting for the R42 lol http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/vw-plans-three-hot-golfs

Nope he's right and it will have the proper TSI engine in it , no more need for fuel pump upgrades !
It will be a beefed up version of the TSI found in the 2.0 turbo cars from the vag range in use today.
Will give more power when mapped than the tfsi , it should have been used now in the golf R tbh.

It's just a thought ,all under the same Group, why not a Leon 4WD like the Golf R and S3 .:)

I think thats my next car to be honest. Arsed waiting for whatever SEAT eventually dish up and it means I dont have to put up with the crap that comes with the S badge. Add to that flawless changes and loads of traction as well as a nice interior for not that much more than a Leon Cupra R and you are sorted.

Yeah seen this in auto express today looks and sounds good and it reckons the price will be £30.000 which I thought was very cheap.
Is the existing S3 not more expensive?

I bet you for £30k it'll be comparatively poverty spec though.

Yeah, I'd say 30k would be the empty baseline. That's okay, though, you can always add anything you need later on when you have more cash. :D

The only thing I actually care about when buying a car would be multi-function steering wheel because adding that later on would cost a hell of a lot of money. Anything else is fine, including bi-xenons, sound system, sick alloys, etc.

I can't see why anyone would pick this over the BMW M135i at the same price.

Thought the A class had the most powerful production 2.0turbo engine built? Also i heard there were alot of changes to the engine that the S3 will have. I am a fan of all these presige hot hatches!! Shame there way out of my price range
