Any sound system needs to be "played-in" and sounds better for every hour it's been used. Count on at least 100 hours until you're completely there. And the difference between a brand-new, non-used unit and a "played-in" one is pretty significant. So you can't really judge the quality of car sound systems from a drive in a demo, that normally would not have had its system used very much. If at all.... Not that the stock 8-speaker system couldn't be good enough, I haven't compared so can't really say anything on that.

But Apolo Blue rocks, whereas Monsoon Grey does not. That's up to anyone's taste, of course, but to me the Leon looks a tad bland in that grey shade.

And with a new car, you know what it's been through. I.e. nothing.

Isn't the cambelt covered for 120,000 miles or 4 years whatever comes soonest?

Well it would appear so, just read that SEAT recommend the change every 4 years or the recommended mileage whatever that may be, they never said.

My how cars have come on, my first 6 years were spent on the tools and the grey area for the belt change was around the 60k mark....it still seems to me an awful long time to warranty cover a cam belt when the fallout from one going can be quite costly. Ah wtf do I know, did I mention there were air raid sirens and barrage balloons in the sky when I was a mechanic :D

Cam belts are covered for the normal warranty period which in Seats case is 3 years or 60,000 miles. The change interval may be quoted in some places as 4 years or 120,000 miles but that has nothing to do with warranty. Cam belts are a service part like plugs, brakes, clutches etc.

If you have the extended warranty the can belt will be covered but you will still have to replace it your own expense if it requires it as part of Seats schedule during the warranty period.

That's more in-line with my train of thought, 120k miles is an insane period for a manufacturer to warranty a cam belt.

Going to dig around my history to find this cam belt 4 year SEAT quote I read earlier...

Does the new one have the free tech pack with led lights etc?, would the 13 plate have them?. I rode past a nice fr tonight and it didn't have the led lights and I was thinking, I bet in 4 years time against a car with LEDs a few months newr it will struggle to seek at the same money. My mate bought the worlds only Mini Cooper s without the chilli pack which added xenons, lost tons on it as no one wants a Mcs without xenons or 17" alloys etc. work considering if it's relevant to the two vehicles.

Thanks for your advice Danno, they both have the tech pack and are exactly the same car apart from the colour, LED interior lights and SEAT sound.

Are the LEDs inside just different bulbs? Or is there different fittings as I'm seen a thread on here where a member just bought some leds from ebay and changed them in a few minutes..

Could be way off though...

Used then mate, no brainer. Did the same with titanium X S-Max, saved 8 grand on the options deal offered on a new discounted one, and did straight finance and it's all ours on under 3 years now. And it had some nice little extras like integrated blinds, rear tables and an electric handbrake. (More cosmetic as the standard one is very knaff looking).

It's got that cool mood led pack that changes colour dependant on mode it think?. I do like that. The MCS had user selectable led mood lights and I miss them.

I have decided to definitely go with the brand new apollo blue Leon FR, because i don't think keeping a car for four years with the mileage I do and a job I have would be the smartest option, also, I want the subwoofer :)
