New purchase in the household, 2019 i30 N Line Plus 1.4T

Sister didn't want a Leon as its "too common" apparently and doesn't come with as good spec.

This car has heated memory seats, heated steering, lane assist etc.

One big thing I've noticed is although it has an opf it sounds so good, its louder and has a deeper tone than my 190 tsi.
Even the auto gearchanges have a nice quiet pop and I'm truly jealous 😭

Heres a pic;

Its a great drive, sits nice and low too.
Features are great however the infotainment is better on the Leon.
I can't get over how good it sounds, is the opf less restrictive or maybe the backbox has less stuff inside lol

I think it would make a great replacement for my current MK2, is in fact top of my list.

@Mo_86, the i30 looks great. I was very tempted by the i30’s ‘sibling’ - the Kia Ceed - a couple of years ago (I believe the two cars are very similar under the skin - share the Hyundai / Kia platform, engines and transmission).

The Ceed’s interior felt quite VW-like from mk6 Golf era. Maybe that was the influence of ex VW / Audi chief designer Peter Schreyer who moved from VW to Kia in the mid-noughties.

We have a Kia Xceed (2024) PHEV Auto as an office car.

I drive it a great deal, in my opinion the interior build quality is better than the current Golf (which I have also driven). It feels solid, the switches are well placed and seats including the bolster show no wear at all after 20k and half a dozen or so people having driven it, most without any care. I tend to clean it inside and out every time I use it so once every 3 weeks or so (I like a clean car) and its hard to believe but even the glossy black plastic on the centre consul hasn’t marked!!

The only issues I have come across are there was a rattle from the boot which has now disappeared and one of the headlights looks like it isn’t quite clipped fully into place - if that makes sense, probably needs to be removed and just re-seated (its so minor keep forgetting to mention when its serviced). The Nav is not quiet as good as the latest VW/Cupra but it does have built in Alerts for cameras etc. You could also argue its not quite as cool as a Golf or Leon.

Before buying the i30 we did drive a 2020 xceed 1.4 but we didnt like the handling in comparison to the i30.
The interior was very nice and so were the switches.
I feel the i30 has too many buttons.
