Also, I have to agree with the comment on PH that its just too damn far off the ground. One of the key features of a 'sporty' car you want it to look as low as possible but the ride height on that makes it look like its on tip-toes.

Why does SEAT have such a hard time with this?! Look at the R32, sits so perfectly with a couple of cm between arch and tyre...that's what we want!

Having studied the pictures of the LCR and the LC, I actually prefer the LC for the same reason - the height. Also, I have never been a fan of wheels are are too large, but having had a set of lightweight 18's on my Cupra, I am aware of the difference a few kg's on a wheel can make to performance.

I am thinking that as these wheels are obviously the same as the Cupra's, but bigger, they are gonna be heavier.

Aye, though my 19" BBS are lighter than my 18" Cupra Alloys. :)

I would expect these 19's to pretty heavy, though the Mk1 Cupra R alloys were fairly light.

It will be interesting to look at the detail of the LCR when it comes including the details/differences of the parts used.

So far, it looks like a Cupra pretty much, but based on what has been said already and what is present in higher power K04 2.0T cars, the probable additions over the Cupra are;

1) Bigger wheels of the same design (and therefore probably heavier)
2) Uprated Fuel Pump (info from SEAT)
3) R Badging (info from SEAT)
4) Probable uprated intercooler (based on the S3 spec which fits on to the MK2 Leon 2.0T already)
5) Claimed 25PS more (info from SEAT)

Based on the fact that you will probably get a decent fuel pump and intercooler to start with, on the plus side, you are only going to be an intake, exhaust and remap off 360bhp :)

I think its definatley not as nice looking as the previous generation Cupra, but its still a good car.

I wonder if the uprated fuel pump will fit the standard cupra like mines? It maybe cheaper than an APR/KMD Pump etc.

Yes but its quite a diferent fueling system, chain driven rather than cam driven.

Yep quite correct, but from this we can see it's an issue VAG are addressing on the TSIs as both versions are now getting upgraded pumps, almost as if they are encouraging us to modify them...? :D

Edit: Just noticed this pic

Not exactly stunning from the front, is it?

As someone pointed out, in that colour and with those wing mirrors,

The original MK2 Leon Cupra looks a lot better IMO

Told you Yellow was the best looking

But the Mk2 Leon always comes last in track tests when compared to the GTI, ST, R26, VXR and MPS. I've read in a few cases that this is due to bad ESP and ABS setups, not working well when driven fast.

Leon was car of the year in germany.

Rated highly by the german mags.

Been reading what people have been putting on piston heads , havent had such a good laugh in ages , its nice to see peolple getting het up on our leons , but calling Revo wan:censored:ers is going a little too far.

Its quite obvious from reading their posts that they have never driven a Cupra or dont actually know the specs and what the car is capable of , even worse than that slag it off cause it hasnt visited the halfrauds parts bin on the production line.

intresting to read that most Leon drivers drive 2 cm from peolpes bumpers ? starnge cause most cars are usually behind me

i think seat need to rethink on their top models the cupra should have a spoiler and sideskirts as standard as for the new R ? what R they on !!!!!

Par for the course for most new motors to get maulled on PH

Regarding XDS, didn't the mk1 cupra have a electronic limited slip diff as well? I'm pretty damn sure it did/does. The thing is: it doesnt work above speeds of 25mph. Does this new system (with X at the start of the name.. ooooh) work at speed or is it just marketing?

I think your refering to EDL my ibiza has it, it just applies the brake if one wheel loses traction under 25mph but does not mimic an LSD.

explains why the new GTI with the ea888 engine maps straight to 275hp.

Apologies, but it does nothing for me at all.

Whenever I see a tidy Mk1 LCR I still feel inspired by it. None of that feeling for this new LCR, particularly against what I felt the day I legged it back to the SEAT dealer in Windsor back in 2003 to buy my 1st LCR.

I'm sure it's technically competent, but if the right attention had been lavished I'd have happily handed in the keys to the S3. This is just half ar$ed, and the person responsible for this pi$$ poor attempt should be up for performance management. Haven't they opened their eyes to how the top end hot hatch game is moving forward.

Our S3 is fast becoming a bit of a technical relic against the likes of the Golf/Rocco R20T, the Focus RS etc... but SEATSport would have in the past been moving the game along a bit. The only bit of SEAT Sport contribution in this car is from the store man in terms of a badge. Nice opportunity missed by a mile - well done! What a crying shame, I'd love to come back to the fold.
