MTEC bulbs will give you a whiter light, but they're not as powerful.

Osram nightbreakers are slightly less yellow but give more light output.

HIDs will give you white light and more power than standard bulbs.

LEDs just look nice, but won't give light output like the halogen or HID bulbs.

Jarre summed it up perfectly. Aftermarket HIDs are not good with fog lights in our cars, though, because the cornering lights will ruin them. I'd suggest turning cornering lights off in VAG-COM or keeping the fog lights on at all times if you install HIDs to them.

I have Osram Nightbreaker Plus bulbs in my fog lights and their output is very, very strong compared to the OEM ones by Philips, however, they are not nearly as white as HIDs, however light yellow.

I'll go for MTEC 4750 Kelvin fog light bulbs next as soon as I sort out of my master card issues. You can buy those from hids-direct. Like Jarre said, their output won't be as strong but they are definitely brighter than standard ones and will most likely match your HIDs if you have ones.
