I am about to get a new car and am looking at the FR 1.4Tsi I have had a 1.4 Tsi since 2008 and cant fault it however it has a full B Kit.
The only bit putting me off the FR is the black plastic on the back bumper has anyone any of their own pics of the new leon they could post like most people I would go for Red.

Doubt you will find any pics yet as they are not officially released yet till next month....... Easy to either wrap or paint the rear valance if it is so offputting to you.

Not sure they'll be any help though tbf!

Excellent thanks for that , she looks so hot in Red what are your thoughts on the new 1.4 140 Hp engine

Yeah I like the looks of it! I haven't driven it yet - I don't think anyone has as the demos aren't out yet!

The dealer said they'd contact me when the demo is in and I can have a test drive :)

So so tempted to get the 1.8TSI but I think I will wait for the Cupra next year and decide then. Will also allow me to test drive the 1.8 hopefully and get a good feel of the Leon

We have some new FR's in Finland's roads with 140 hp engine. Demo cars arrived last December and most have been sold already. I ordered my 184 hp TDi FR couple weeks ago but estimated delivery is in July. Dealer said that 184 TDi production for Finland will start in late May..

You have more patience than me,whats your thoughts of the new model in the flesh, possibly if I had seen one I would have ordered it the garage were looking end of March April delivery for a 1.4Tsi, but that goal post will be moving as that was a week ago.

my opinion is that the figures should be lower than that in reality, as the FR has 184 HP / 380 NM. my leon 2.0 tdi with just a remap (aggresive one) with a bit more torque than 2013 FR was able to go 0-60 in 7.2 seconds. but the FR should be 90 kilos lighter by using the new modular frame...

we'll see

I think the 1.8 tsi is also 0-62 in 7.5 seconds.
I wonder how the petrol and diesel engines will compare. I'm thinking of ordering a 1.8 tsi when some reviews become available to read as a change from my current Mk 2 Leon with the tdi CR 170 engine.
I'm also considering trying the DSG version. Do people think that's a good decision or should I have another diesel and go for the 184.
I do lots of short journeys and fairly low annual mileage.

I think you just answered your own question - town driving and a low amount of miles points quite clearly to a petrol engine! :)

I know that's why I'm thinking seriously about the petrol engine next time.
I probably worded my post badly because what I was really wondering was which may turn out to be the nicest and most fun to drive.

It was interesting when I was in Preston SEAT last week. I was speaking to a salesman and said I was doing 15k miles a year so might be better with diesel, and he said probably not. But I overheard a guy with another salesman, he said he was doing 12k miles a year and that salesman suggested that he should get a diesel! So everyone's opinion is different.

I guess you have to look at the figures properly as Diesel engines cost more and the fuel costs more too, and it's only offset by the mpg gain, of which if you're doing town driving, won't be that much.
