hey guys i drive a 1.6tdi mk5 ibiza and get great mpg as 90% of my trips are all motorway really never do a-roads...i was at my seat dealer the other day and the boss was moving the new mk3 leon across the road to take some photos of it and when it had its led lights on i fell in love with it.

After looking at the The 1.8 TSI and the 2.0 TDI I went for the diesel FR, I have always been a petrol head but I do about 15,000 miles a year and most of them long motorway miles.

I am coming from a 2.0 Fiesta ST and I was sold on the fact that the TDI will have the same BHP as my current car with spades more torque (I know the two engines will have totally different feels to them but I am sure I will get used to it).

you'll actually learn to love it...
The torque is damn addictive and it would take a hell of a lot of power in a petrol to get me back to petrol.

At this point I think I'd have to go to a stage 2 Cupra R to beat the feeling mine gives me.
All about the torxxxx

One thing I have always wanted is that torquey punch in the back under heavy acceleration, if I get anything like that I am sure my face will ache after a while due to the amount of grinning I will be doing......

Keeping in line with this topic...

The new FR is the 184bhp....so one can only imagine that that one would map to about 220 and 350lb/ft at stage 2.

I have no clue what they've done to the engine, but if they have made significant improvements to combustion through cams, piston crown design, injection timing/amount etc etc then they might be able to achieve higher power without going into stupid illegal smoke.
