New Ibiza connect

I was looking at one of these today and had a sit and a play in one!

I must say its nicer than my 14 plate FR

the built in sat nav/infotainment thing is pretty good and all the switches are much nicer too

I am going back to talk figures next week to see if its viable to get one!!

the only thing putting me off at the moment is the engine

its a 1.2 tsi

which is the same as whats in the FR only its 90ps not 105 like the FR!!

this is the only engine option too! hopefully I can get a test drive in one

I guess they have to make the fr special somehow! Even more grateful my sportrider is 105 .

it just makes me laugh though as the connect os a nice car with a nice spec

shame about the engine!

it probably only needs a ECU flash to give it the power it needs!!

FR used to be more than 105 in the old days they down graded the FR so had to downgrade the non sporty models I guess. At least not a 75ps normal aspirated model like I used to have and actually what for me makes the biggest difference for me is actually the torque which is great and the curve very consistent on the TSI. Check out the torque figures and see if there's any difference there too.

they are down on torque too but not a great deal!!

I ended up trading mine in for a Leon 1.6 diesel

I miss the torque of the diesel!!

the power output of the diesel is the same but the torque is more which makes it a better drive

I am planning on keeping the Leon for a while so when the warranty is out he way I can see a remap on the horizon which will make it come alive a little more
