New Leon rear badge

Evening all. Has anyone managed to remove the new Leon lettering from the rear of their mk 4 yet? I really don’t like it but not sure on the best way of removing.

If you do a Google search on ‘removing car badge’, ‘de-badging a car’ or similar search, you’ll see there are lots of videos on YouTube showing how to remove car badges / emblems. They pretty much all use heat (hot air gun or hairdryer) dental floss or fishing line and a tar / glue removal product to remove adhesive residue that‘s left behind once the badge has been removed.

A word of caution when using a heat source on a car’s paintwork; too powerful a heat source or concentrating the heat source on a specific area for too long, and there’s a risk of damaging the paintwork! Although arguably a hairdryer won‘t be as effective a heat source as a hot air gun, it‘s probably the safer option.
