Hi guys, purchased myself a 54 plate Leon 1.9tdi FR and am pretty pleased with it so far. Eats up the miles
I've sorted a load of the niggles out from info on this site but a few still delude me if anyone can shed some light on them i'd be grateful
1. I had a wet drivers footwell got some butyl strip off ebay but when I came to do the job I ran the hosepipe on the window and found no water came from where the butyl strip seals. I then noticed the seal across the bottom of the door had pinged off at the front so I put it back into place after checking the drain hole at the front was clear but am still getting water sitting on the area beneath the door after it's been raining, im not sure if this is normal, any ideas?
2. What is the engine code for my car? Im confused if it's a PD150 or an ARL engine. Where is the engine code located?
3. Both rear and the passenger window controls have small rectangular holes in them like something is missing?
4. Vag com..... I've read and read but would be grateful if someone can tell me what version and cable I need to be able to read and delete codes, check boost pressure and anything else diy styleeee
5. It's a ***** to start first time in the morning, I have to hold the key cranking for a bit longer than you'd think then get a puff of smoke out the back. I've put this down to the ecu's coolant temp sensor. Is this the right part number for a replacement? 059-919-501A
6. I got underneath it the other day and had a poke around. I was told the turbo is uprated, the cast on the compressor housing reads .46 M53 23 Any idea if that's normal or not?
Im aware housings can be machined to hold bigger compressor wheels etc, are there any 'typical' turbo upgrades?
Once i'd dropped the car back down and tried to replace the lift point cover which just would not go back in place I noticed the side skirt looked swollen so removed the first few torx screws and founda massive handful of wet soil. Nice!
The car has apparently been remapped as well. Im not feeling 180bhp that's for sure. Im aware of Revo units and remapped chips. Where's the ECU located and if it's Revo im guessing i'll see it straight away, but if not how do you check a chips map? Vag com?
