Hi all,

Just wanted to say hello and get some experiences of members.

I come from a Skoda Fabia MKII Vrs (owned for 15 months) but to be honest as excellent as the Vrs was I never got on with the DSG and the lack of ultimate control that a manual gives.

I also found that with my type of journeys and useage I never realy felt like I used/enjoyed the 180 BHP which was why I bought the car in the first place.

About six months into ownership I started looking around and after a good deal of research I narrowed the choice to a few, one being the new Ibiza.

I test drove the FR TDI (105) and was impressed by the chassais and torque.

I had a MKI Vrs (Diesel) for a few weeks years ago and really enjoyed the feeling of the TD engine.

Anyhow I have ordered an Ibiza FR TDI 143 and should be making the swap in the next week or two.

Maybe a bit risky having never tested the actual model but the figures of 143BHP, 236FT/LBS 0-60 8 sec should prove entertaining in a more useable way that the Mk II Vrs.

I tend to get bored with my cars easily and much to my wife's annoyance change too regularly!!!

Thats my story and I just wondered if there are any thoughts/opinions/experiences of FR TDI owners here that could give me an insight into the ownership prospect.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

:)

cant talk about the tdi - but i have had my new fr petrol for 1 week now and love it. ride is nice, feels nice, steering wheel is nice, all the little touches i love (just sit in it at night and youll see) things like that . The seats are extremely comfortable, i like the stereo and how its tilted in towards you a little.

It does depend on what options you picked as ones that should be standard arent! but its a nice little car and im sure youl enjoy the extra power you have! considering i have the 105 manual and think that is a nippy car!

I have a fr tdi and owned a mk4 fr tdi 130 before it,the new one is a quiet engine for a diesel and a bit more economical than the mk4 and does not feel as quick though it is probably will be a bit slower than your vrs but a lot more economical ! hope this helps
