Hi all. Looking forward to picking up my Altea Stylance next week. Just come over from from the briskoda site where my previuos drive was a much loved Fabia Vrs. But needed more space and really rate SEAT' and particularly the design so here I am. The new car has everything I need in a car include power fold mirrors, climate, electric sunroof and heated seats (good for the piles)!. Anyway look forward to conversing soon.

All the best.:)

Shads, welcome!
Out of curiosity, what reg etc was your vrS? If you don't mind me asking how much did you get in a trade in?
I have an 05 vrS that might be trading in soon, just curious thats all!

Hi Bobby I achieved a partex of £8.5k for m Vrs which had 25K on the clock. It had options including metallic paint, sunroof and leather interior. I felt it was a fair price and much higher than Peugeot offered me so I took the deal. really looking forward to the new car.

good morning and welcome Shads (or shadsky/shadders/shad the lad, oo eck u may be a woman !, i'll pack in now, taxi!).

Ahh my fellow Yorkshire friend. If you really are from Cas then my name may give you an idea of where I am from.

P.S not that far away but quite a bit north of Castleford.

Cas born and bred (not bread!), just googling Shad at the moment, any more clues ?
Ah well it's within 20 miles of Casvegas but no further north than Knaresborough. Shads is not the full name of the village I live in. By the way good luck and hope to see you back in super league with the Tigers.

Hi Shads,

Welcome from a fellow Newbie - I've had my Altea 2.0TDi Sport (04 reg) for nearly 2 weeks now and must say I'm very happy with it. I came from a BMW 325i Sport, so it's a bit of a change but I had a Leon Cupra 20VT before that so not unused to Seat.

Anyway, welcome and I hope you enjoy your Altea as much as i enjoy mine.

Matt:)

I did initially think Shadwell (Leeds) but thought you wouldn't really describe it as north of Cas.. Fingers/toes everything crossed for Sunday, really really hope they do it

Correct it is Shadwell. Well done mate my other forum name was Shadwell Vrs so I could not think of anything exciting so Shads it was. Good luck for Sunday.

Hi Matt, thanks for the reply. Moving from the Vrs to a 1.6 is obviously a down size in power but the new Altea has many pluses over the old Fabia. I don't commute more than 12 miles a day for starters so the petrol will suit us fine. The car looks well smart very modern with a quality interior and an excellent specification. I like a higher driving position and plenty of shoulder room so it fit's the bill nicely. Looking forward to the car coming now but have to wait while the DVLA transfer my registration across. Also looked at the Nissan Qashqai but the waiting lists are too long and secondhand they are as dear as a new one.
