After going from a stage 2 LCR to a standard k1 i want to do a few mods, nothing over the top for now. At the moment iv got in mind the following:-

custom-code stage 1
forge throttle body and intercooler hoses
replacement valve with blow off adaptor
pipercross panel filter
Liquid gage

what mods have worked for members on here?

thanks greg

Turbo back exhaust is a great mod on the MK2 as the standard downpipe is shocking! AMD said to me the back presure on these is so bad so that would be a great start if only just the downpipe/sports cat.

Im new to the MK2 leon coming from a stage 2 Mk1 cupra R myself but the mods you have planned are a good start for sure.

you may want to hold off on the panel filter and just get a "full" intake system as the airbox on these is also not that good design so might be a waist fitting the panel filter.

Most popular route is Remap, downpipe/cat or full exhaust, intake, fuel pump and your looking at 360bhp... Get a uprated intercooler as well if your doing all the above

As JCR said, the standard airbox is shocking, really restrictive - I'm not sure a panel filter is a good idea.

I bit the bullet and bought a Forge TwinTake, which improved the low down grunt a lot more, and defiantely made it more responsive.

The Neuspeed Rear Anti Roll bar upgrade was definately worth it too, really improved the ride substantially. Stopped a massive amount of roll, and also improved the turn in of the car.

I'd have a look at P-Torque for the map, they get great reviews, and I've personally witnessed the great service Will provides.

The hoses are a waste of time and money.

I personaly wouldnt go with custart code but thats up to you.

The filter is a waste of time just get an intake.

Springs/coillies and some arbs will sort the handling out no end ;)

I agree with the P-Torque map 100%, also if you do a quick search people have fitted liquid gauges to drivers side air vents which is the way I'm thinking of going.

Thanks for the advise guys. Just had a look on the race diagnostic site and the liquid gauge is £170 for the kit or £220 for the kit moulded to the vent surround. Two other things, how hard is it getting the engine cover off??? tried for about 10 mins earlier an it wouldnt budge. The othe thing is where is the diagnostic port on a mk2, i cant find it any where?

The diagnostic port is in the panel under the light switches, just pull it off at the bottom right ;)

To get the engine cover off just unclip the clips and rag it off just be carefull of the fuel pump senser.

100% agree.

My car feels so much better after the Coilies and Rear ARB. Some of the best money I've spent on the car.

As for the engine cover, after unscrewing the air scoop and loosening the clips, just give it a good tug from the front left area. My engine was slightly warm when I took mine off, which helped a bit.
