After deep consideration I have decided I am going to keep my 1.4 Ibiza and use it as a project car rather than go to an Audi A3 or VW Bora. I travelled to london on saturday to look at 2 Bora's which were in extremely bad condition which was abit of a put off.

I realise i have a tidy car already, which i have done alot of work on so why not appreciate it for at least another year? Besides my insurance has decreased from £1500 to £750 now. :D

Next week im putting it in for a service, new low springs and posssibly some tints.

However, with some minor(PLEASE tell me how minor it is) fixes to make such as fixing a sticky passenger window I would also like to look at the possibility of replacing my current interior. Primarly i would like to go for the Cupra, Half red/black seats however they are quite pricey and more difficult to find with doorcards too.

What else can i replace my current seats with? Please could you list some manufacturers models that i can search for.

Feel free to inspire me with some other possible modifications (steering clear of engine mods for the moment)

I look forward to hearing from you all

Thanks,

Mickey

P.S. Engine mod's next year :)

you could always go for the GTi seats? or possibly even the Sport seats? (still a heck of a lot better than the original trim in the 1.4's.)
decent set of rims ( although if thats yours in your avvy , they look good), lower it , ..could keep and eye open for a set of Cupra/GTi clocks? (gives you the silver/white dials and the all important Rev counter ) apart from that, theres nowt much you need to do to make these look decent anyway.
:D

Thanks for the reply. Yep thats mine in m avatar. The alloys were the first thing I did when I get the car this time last year. Ill keep my eyes open for some seats. Nothing on Ebay at current. I will do abit of forum searching too..

I should have really added I have made some modification to the car already:

Cupra Alloys
Cupra Sideskirts
Cordoba Front Bumper & Chin Spoiler
De-badged grill
Sprayed black stock Mirrors to match bodywork

Like you say, not much there but makes all the difference..

More ideas welcome :)

A new question to ask while I have a topic up already:

Im going to lower the car. How far should I go? 30mm or 40mm? (I dont want any rubbing on the arches if people are in the back)

&

what sized spacers am I better off using? 15mm? or 20mm? (is it dependant on how much I lower the car by also?)

40 mm would be fine mate, my gti is down something like 60 and it dont rub.

Cant help but think though mate that in 6 months time when you cant mod the out side anymore your going to want more out of the 1.4 lump and you wont get it.

Would you not be better off getting a gti 8v and just going as a named driver on it ???

Thanks for the replies again.

I have thought about it however, ive done alot of work to the car already with regards to visual modification so why not appreciate it and work on it some more.

If I were to buy a new car (as last week this was what I only had in mind) I would buy an A3 or Bora; personal tastes.

I see the car I have as a cheap running motor that I may continue work on even if I invest in a new car next year, at current as I will earn my 1 years no claim on the 24th of this month I cannot touch the engine, this is an option possibly next year

I've got some shiny finish Polo Classic door handle/pulls which can replace the black plastic ones ;)

Depends whether you are looking for cosmetic mods or performance mods.
