If they're the ones that I think they are that clip round on themselves, you need to prise the clip off with a small screwdriver. You'll need some robust jubilee clips to replace them with when fitting the new valve although beware, the 1.8T HATES atmospheric DVs in general and only three have been known to work which use a twin piston design (HKS SSQV, Forge 004 & Bailey DV26). I am guessing you have a 50/50 valve which has the ability to be fully atmospheric, fully recirculating or half of both so that the ECU is potentially happy?

No-one on here started as a mechanic but we've all spent many an hour researching or breaking things to find what does and doesn't work. By all means fit the valve but I expect to see a thread from you in the next few days asking why your cars stalls a lot, runs in limp mode or makes strange turbo noises :D. If you reach 15 posts before you fit this, please post a picture of the valve so we can advise you on how to set it up right :)

YUK!!

If you have to remove one of the "trumpets" and use one of the sleeves so it re-circulates, or just bin it and buy a forge 007 or a copy one :)

I'm not sure that will work at all as it doesn't give much info and the measurements of the ports, you might find that you have to buy reducers and relocate it which can become a real pain.

The simplest way to get a nice 'dump' noise is to buy an open cone induction kit, following this get a remap to increase the boost pressure and it'll get quite loud even with the standard valve.

You can also remove the bonnet lining.
