Hi guys bin hiding about the past few days looking around on here and finally thought may as well join up and ask a few questions i have.

basically i have a 2009 Corsa sxi 1.4 (moves like a snail!!!!!)

but hopefully looking to get myself a new fr or cupra all depends what offer i can get, anybody know what Seat in Stockport are like to deal with?

Also my car has about 4k finance still left on it just want to know what my options could me (i know i cant sell a car with outstanding finance either lol) so would i have to buy the car outright or perhaps add the cupra on to my existing plan not really to sure on finance stuff you also.

One final request if some people could give some figures about deposits, deals, part ex values, montly payments and stuff you got on your own cars just so i could get a little idea what to expect :)

Going to be going down to have a look towards the end of the week if i have time.

well im in the same boat mate,

im after a bocanegra and sheffield will do me a base car for 16k

the deposit they would want is 6500 and whatever in options,

and the payments come out at 208 per month over 5 yrs

Hey mate, hope you can find a good deal somewhere :) its a great car. I can only comment on the seat stockport side of things, I got my cupra from there. Good deal, 100 up front then 300 a month on pcp. But do not go there! I've had the worst experience of my life, my cars broken on 3 occasions which I know (hope!) Isn't there fault. There customer service has been appalling, they have made my life so stressful by refusing to help me out in any way. They are incredibly rude, they have lied to me, lied to seat about me and genuinely don't care once you have signed. I would say phone around for the best prices then get another dealer to match it for you. Honestly, just believe me and don't go to stockport (presumed ur talking about lookers)

Cheers, James

Finance wise seat would give you a value for your corsa and from the valuation they would pay the outstanding finance off first then give you the rest of the money for the deposit of the new car

I'm in talks with 3 garages to get the best deal. Wakefield, Sheffield and Huddersfield,
dnt just settle on a dealer because they are at your doorstep travel to get the best deal, my dad when he got his M6 got the best deal from a garage 90 minutes drive away as they did the car 7k cheaper

I am in the same situation as well, but instead of a 1.4 corsa, its a 1.2 so feel my pain.

I didnt find seat stockport very friendly, well in comparison to the one in Salford, so perhaps you should give them a call and see what price they can offer you?

Like you mentioned in your previous post its worth the travel to obtain a better deal and possibly more importantly with these new 1.4 engines customer service,

Purchased my Ibiza from Lookers Stockport last year, service wasn't to standard for me, I would reccomend David Cooks of Oldham :)

Thanks for all the helpful replied guys!

With regards to the finance answers thats great to know guys.

Seat in Salford if you mean the one like near the MEN arena- ive been there twice and i didnt like the people who worked there.

Thanks for the info about Seat in Stockport i think i may just go there and have a little look and get a idea from them- but if they are not helpful etc... doubt i will want to deal with them. The car is a huge commitment so i would want helpful service if anything was to go wrong!

I may go have a look at the Oldham one as well thanks for that info :)

Yer, id get a price from them but is urge you not buy from there! If something goes wrong don't expect much help or understanding. Customers for life... yer right. Not heard a good thing about them yet

You can sell a car with Finance on you just have to tell the person that there is an outstanding balance which will be paid on the day of purchase.

I've read a few concerning things about Stockport Seat. I work in Manchester and I wouldn't take my car there.

In fact I rang a while back with a query and no one returned my call. Screw them! David Cook Motors in Oldham is far better and not too far away.

With regards to Stockport Seat I'll put it this way; when I was looking to buy my FR TDi I filled in the online interest/call back form on their website to arrange a test drive, never heard from them. So I went to LC Charles in Crewe and bought it there. I mean WTF, with the state of the economy you would think they would even through in a head massage if it meant sealing the deal. Enough said.

Go to LC Charles in Crewe, plenty of people on this site have bought from there. 1/2 decent customer service and a good choice of used/new. They tend to have more FR/Cupra etc etc than most garages within the North.

Crewe? cool will try giving them a go as well guys :)

although i just rang direct line and they said it would cost another 750 to change my car to a fr and they wouldnt insure me under the cupra because i had to be 21 and have 2 years no claims at least :(

any good insurance companies you lot can recommend?

just done a insurance quote online with direct line for a fr though and its coming up at a price i could probably afford so it looks like i may have to pursue for that car instead :( this totally doesnt make sense since on comparison website etc... the fr is more expensive to insure when compared to the cupra. but direct line wont even quote me on a cupra lol.

There isnt that many differences between the cupra and fr really apart from the different map and some visual mods am i correct in thinking from the other threads i have seen. also i would assume the 0-60 times were similar is that correct?

see then if the 0-60 are similar then tbh i may just go for the fr and perhaps treat myself to the skirts and spoiler and would be happy with that i think- although part of me really really really wants the cupra and if i am stuck with a long commitment i dont want to get bored of the car lol- although dont think i will if i do get it. but if the fr is cheaper and more financially suitable it may be the best option to go for.

going to have to see what deals i can get on a fr i think.

also is it hard to get used to driving with a automatic dsg gearbox? ive only ever driven manuel cars so nothing about automatics at all! like if i let go of the break at the lights does the car just crawl forward? sorry for the dopey questions guys

Sheffield are looking good I orderd s cupra last week get wednesday they seem help full I also rang Liverpool and they was excellent just could not do same as sheff but I do know they have fully kitted cupra 3000 on clock in speed blue also they do have a speed blue coming in with leather and pan roof also standed red one all depends what ya won't

Elephant and admiral are part of the same group like the price is reasonable if I pay in one go but if I opt for monthly when I ring them up its just silly amounts. I think I'm gna pursue the fr idea and go for the sleeper look lol but stil not sure
