Seat.com are listing the following on the colours page:

"CUPRA model is only available in Emocion Red, Crono Yellow, Luna Grey, Zenith Grey and Inferi Black."

If Inferi Black is the purplish black on the show cars, I guess the six handbuilt press cars in the recent road tests were finished in Black Magic. They don't look purplish in the test report photos.

I think they are also in Inferi Black. It depend's on the light whether you
see the purplish color. Look at the test foto's on the side of the car and
you can see it's definatly not Black Magic.

This pic from AutoCar, shows it best as its overexposed. Granted im using a colour calibrated screen here at work, that adjusts to the lighting conditions, but i think thats fairly conclusive.

That is a very 'red' Black

No DSG. Ho-hum. Either a 2.0 TDi Stylance DSG for me, or another make. I have no idea why it's ended up on such a MOR car in the range. Still, the wife will be happy - more money for shoes!

I'm in agreement with Z. For a short while I wrestled with the idea of going for a mad colour to try and add some impact to a car that was otherwise quite stealthy and had no real 'stand out appeal', but then all you realise your doing is:
1) taking a depreciation hit later when you come to sell
2) advertising it to theiving ASBO gypo's
3) risking that in 3 years it will be the colour that no-one will touch with a barge-pole
Everyone's different (thankfully), so there will be those who will want something loud and proud. These days I can do without the hastle.

whats wrong with white? audi and vw have some very subtle browns and greys that look awesome.doesn't have to be bland and dull ,but can still blend in.

No DSG is a dissapointment.

Still not 100% sure I will have one until I have seen it in the flesh, saying that I am 90% sure I probably will ;)

I don't get the no DSG option either.

Supposedly it can change gear faster than is humanly possible, but on the Cupra and S3 its not an option. I've heard an array of dealer excuses, but in Audi Magazine it says that Audi deemed that it did not fit in with the driver focussed approach to these vehicles. So why has the R32 got it???

Easy one Warren DSG/ S tronic cannot handle the torque of these turbo cars and how it is delivered, far more brutal than a 197 golf gti;) a stronger one is one the cards with uprated torque rating

Time will reveal that the cupra has a de tuned AUDI S3 engine complete with that turbo and trick head and other strengthed running gear:D

Agree with Jase though what about the new black which was silver and is now white, i do wonder what it would look like any photoshops?

it's available..... all along the FR DSG was going to be launched in November for build

The Super Copa runs DSG, on the S3 engine. However, race car reliability is less of a requirement given that road cars won't be gone over every 30 miles

It matters not it is only available on the petrol 2.0 tfsi, not the 170 tdi which is also rated @ 258lbft as the new S3 is...... i willl say again it is the torque that is the bug bear with the DSG / S tronic, the 200ps in the golf or altea is o.k as the torque is below the rating of the box;)
