Hello.
Did not find a suitable thread already.
I have Seat leon FR 2.0 TFSI 2009 And im wondering what spark plugs should I have.
Im planning to get remap witch will give about 260hp and 350nm.
There are several types of plugs to get from ebay. Whats the correct type?
Should I get a degree colder or keep the same as now.
Iridium plugs the only way to go or are the platinums OK?

Thanks of the advice.

Looks like you are going for a stage 1 map mate so standards plugs will be fine.

I think a few people on here use the NGK iridium spark plugs I don't know how good they are as I haven't used them there not to badly priced you can pick 4 up off the bay for £30

So definitely the standard heat range is good
so
NGK IRIDIUM IX BKR7EIX is the standard and
NGK IRIDUIM IX BKR8EIX is one step colder.

Can one step colder spark plugs damage my engine some how?
We have to take the Finnish winter a count on this one. Could it affect so that the engine would not start so good on low (like -20C) temperatures.
Thanks again for the info. (if there is such a wizard to know about these things). =)

Just for reference is someone is wondering the same thing.
I asked this about NGK Dealer and they said that the standard platinum plug (NGK PFR7S-8EG ) is good enough and Iridium plug is not to be needed.

I ran BKR8EIX and BKR7EIX on my stage 1+ Cupra and found the 7´s to be the better allround plug. BKR8EIX are good in the summer and giving it the beans all of the time but during the cold winter and daily driving they tend to foul a little...

But like above, stock plugs are more then capable up until stage 2.

I just fitted mine. Did go for the strandard double platinum plug because the NGK dealer said the iridium plugs does not make any difference actually.
so heres the result. Have others got similar coloring? I think it looks like its runnig a bit lean?

I did not notice any difference about the idle running. It feels tough that is pulls a lot smoother but that could be just in my head.
Idle has always been a bit rough on my car, but stable rpms still.

I have Stage I remap and ran NGK BKR 8 REIX for about 6 months. There was cold weather and car was standing 2 weeks outside. I cant start the engine and checked battery, it was OK.
Then took a look at plugs and look what I found

I put old ones and engine started imediately
Any recommendations???

Now they look bad. Its like your car runs way too rich. Or you have been driving a lot with short distances and the engine has not been getting hot enough. I have had the stock double platinum for now like 15k km and its running fine. I recon you should change back to the stock ones. And maybe check on hows the air fuel mix ratio.
