Surrey darling...
Not been on here for a long while... since I sold my LCR 5 years ago!

Anyways, I've just put a deposit down on a 2008 Sportrider in black (absolute bargain). It's for my step son who's just learning to drive - lucky git! I wish my folks had been so generous with my first car!

The car is in pretty good condition. 51k on the clock. New brakes all round. Nice shiny paint. A few dings here and there but I can get them removed (or just not worry about them until he's been on the road for a bit and I can be sure he'll be sensible with it lol).

Things to do:
- Replace near side rear reflector - is this easy to swap out for a new one?
- Replace broken passenger sun visor clip
- De-badge 'IBIZA' from the boot
- Paint brake callipers silver
- Deep clean interior to remove all the bloody dashboard polish
- Full polish and sealant

I've been looking through some of the readers cars and have a few ideas for some basic mods and a general tidy up but would welcome your suggestions or comments ;)

That looks fantastic! How much did you pay (roughly) if you don't mind me asking? I recently bought an 03 plate in black too except it's no longer as shiny as yours, guess I should do something about that eh!

Looks in great condition. :D

Tbh I would not mod it at all for at least a year as the insurance is going to be high enough as it is. :(

Thanks guys, it was just under £3.5k - which considering its age and miles seems cheep!?! Similar spec and age cars have been going for £4k+

As its a Sportrider it already has the FR body kit, electric folding mirrors, climate control and cruise.

I agree that no mods that will put the insurance up should be done (mainly as I'm paying) but I have been thinking about the little things - I know the Passat W8 interior light mod used to be popular on the Leon so I wondered if there was anything simple like that for the Ibiza? - just to make it a bit more OEM+ If you know what I mean ;)

How to guides would also be great if anyone knows of any?

Check the FAQ in the other forum, lots of ideas there. And yes the W8 is one of them LOL.
