hi people

i am due to pick up my toledo 1.9tdi s at the weekend and already the modding bug has started.:D i am thinking about geting it remapped to produce a bit more than the standard 108bhp. what i wanna know is how much extra bhp and torque i can expect and how much it will cost? seen loads of threads about which say that changing the turbo and manifolds about is beneficial but to be honest i dont really wanna go that far. if anyone has any ideas then i would be most grateful if you could let me have em lol:help:

Get performance torque to remap it.

Had my done - produced 112bhp before, 143 after. (192lbs.ft before, 256 after)

think your talking about a older gen Non PD 1.9TDI, so 110bhp. Get an upsolute map on the older non PDs, best value and never heard a bad word about them, mobile as well so you dont have to go out of your way.

after that then your talking about bigger bucks for larger turbo, injectors etc etc

Mine is an older non-PD TDi!

Most Toledos on 2000/2001 plates will be TDI 90 or TDI 110, both non-PD engines. But the TDI 150, a PD engine, was sold in Toledos in 2001.

Check the engine code in the service book or under the boot carpet. If it's ARL that's a PD TDI 150 and should have a badge reading TDI. The non-PD engines you are likely to find are ASV and AHF (TDI 110's) or ALH and AGR (TDI 90's).

well i know its a tdi 110 so i guess its a non PD engine. my mate who works for a local garage said his place can fit a "chip" for £300 which will knock it up another 30bhp and around 290lbft of torque? not sure if he is being a barry or not cus i read someowhere on here that th limit for the tdi 110 is around 260lb's of torque. otherwise things start to break after that???

yep sounds dodgy, wouldnt go with that. This is your engine, worth thousands so dont mess risk it.

yeah think i will give that one a miss and just go to p-torque instead. rather get it done properley and have a reliable engine than get it done dodgy and the engine die on me a week later.:D
