basically when u accelerate , the power goes to wheel with the least resistance , so if a wheel spins all the power goes to that wheel , u lose speed and it keeps spinning ( think inside wheel ona roundabout) wat the limited slip differential does (or Automatic Tourque Biasing) is to put the power to wheel with the most grip , so u have permanant drive and traction , (outside wheel each time on a corner)

nice

can I ask where you got the Sachs clutch from, how much ££? and are you fitting yourself?

Only asking as I may be looking at this myself soon, possible DMF probs with high torque issue, still to be confirmed but running stock code at present until been looked at.

Paulo mentioned to me about the Sachs clutch and haven't been able to source one so far
cheers

i got it from jbs , cost , cant remeber , local tuning crowd fitting it in a couple of weeks , it does use the existing flywheel tho, there is one available that uses a skimmed flywheel , no single mass conversion is available for the six speed box that im aware of

I thought the LSD [the diff before anyone starts], quaife or peloquin [should be exactly the same for patent issues IIRC] was also meant to put the power down smoother and thus saving the gearbox,,, can someone confirm this?

The diff is an ATB not LSD.
But the clutch will want bedding in.
The clutch that we supplied is great!
This has done us proud in the VW MK4 as we fitted one to a PD150 with Nitrous that has been up and down the drag strip and has not had a problem.
It is a good one!
