A Shell station recently opened in my area, so I've swapped from Tesco's 99 to V-Power Nitro.

Have now run 3 tanks' worth. With Nitro, my LCR now starts quicker, with barely one turn of the key, and low-rev throttle response seems a wee bit sharper.

But compared to 99, mid-range and top-end oomph seems to have slightly lost its edge and my LCR's mpg has dropped by 1.5-2mpg on a long run.

What's your experience of V-Power Nitro - noticed any improvements; how does it compare to 99?

Personally it feels exactly like it did with old v power, it's the same octane but with more additives I think. Not to sure how it compares to momentum...

Like the above I haven't felt any differences from the old v power. It's probably near enough the same.

Nitro is still 99 RON but has more cleaning additives and, allegedly, an added friction reducer.

I haven't really comparing tbh although I seem to go through it quicker than tesco 99 saying that though I always fill up on v power at the beginning of the month for the cleaning additives and then half way through the month I top-up with tesco 99 so my fuels always mixed, however this V-Power Nitro only seems to be lasting me two minutes as I've been rather generous with my right foot.

personally mate I use the 99 I use to put in vpower from shell but price wise the vpower was more than the 99???
I think the 99 is sharper and better on the turbo imo top end is better also.i was over in Germany next to the ring they sold h octan 102 for 1.58 euro a litre[B)]

I know someone who works for Shell, They introduced this stuff ages ago but didn't change the branding (kept it as Vpower) then just re branded it.

Same stuff. Personally I wouldn't bother unless I had a turbo running big boost.

No performance difference. More cleaning agents and additives.

Simples. It's still very good stuff :)

I hate all this fuel crap you might see a difference between 95 and any super but not between BP ultimate, shell or tesco so fill up with whatever makes you happy!
