New V1 Owner - A Few Questions!

Hi Everyone,

I am new to the forum and new to Cupra, though I am VAG lifer.

I recently took delivery of a Formentor V1 after seeing some keen PCH deals. Pretty happy with the car so far, looks & drives great but I have some niggles with the infotainment as I've seen reported elsewhere. I've been scouring the manual but I have a couple of questions that I can't seem to find (I didn't find a V1 owners thread but if there is one, sorry for the duplicate post and please link me to it!)

Firstly - Aircon. I notice everything resets when the car is turned off. Is there a way to save the vent preferences, or at least have it go back to what it was when the car was turned off? Is there a single button I can find that simply says 'all vents, full power, lowest temperature'? My previous car had this...and on days like today, was the first button I'd press!!

Next - The satnav seems to show everything as 'offroad' and displays coordinates instead of a place name. I can't see a way to download maps...can I hook this up to my phone for wifi to update the system or does that have to be done at the dealer

Not infotainment related, but Is there a boot open button inside the car so someone outside can get in without having to turn off the car and smash the unlock button on the keyfob until it eventually opens? Combined with the aircon faff, the sudden realisation there is something you need out of the boot becomes an annoyance I never knew even existed!!

As an aside, and top-tips for V1 cars would be much appreciated!

Thanks :)

Hi mate not sure what the V1 spec has compared to the VZ's but on my VZ2 there is a switch below the right door card next to the right door bin that if you hold for 2 seconds will open the boot lid/ shut it. ( Not sure if V1 has that feature).

You should have some shortcut buttons for AC under 'iclimate' I haven't looked at these extensively but I imagine one will be max heat/ max cooling..?

As it goes for saving air con settings I don't think you can do that. I thought the air con did however go back to your last setting when you turn it on from being off, not something I can say I've took note of though..

As for your sat nav off road question I'm not sure what you mean by this. When you first get in once you have put in some destinations they appear on a shortcut screen and you can select them quickly but if you press nav icon it goes to normal sat nav

Thanks! I guess I just need to explore the menus a bit more. Just had a fiddle and it seems that the AUTO button works rather well in the heat!

The specs are already really good on the V1 (main missing things are the parking assist, all round sensors, rear camera and the power operated boot I think)

I don't see that button for the boot so I guess it cannot be unlocked from the inside and the button on the key fob doesnt seem to do anything while the car is running..

For the Sat Nav - I mean when I search for post codes it shows the street as 'offroad location' which is odd (they are long established streets!) and it subsequently saes it in the recent destinations as 'offroad location' with the coordinates, as opposed to the actual street name like I would usually expect to see

Yeah the V1 is very well kitted out for standard. I'm guessing that switch is part of the electric tailgate option ( which would make sense) as for the sat nav I'm not sure why it's doing that. Check if you need a software update ( over the air, or dealership) although if you have recently acquired the car I'm guessing it's one of the newer ones. In which case there is more of a chance of the software bring up to date.

The off grid sat nav problem was mentioned before. I even posted pictures how it should work. You will have to do search on a forum. I can't remember what was the title of the thread.

Here's the thread, but no solution. You can ask @JonnyT if it was sorted: https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/threads/sat-nav-questions.463870/#post-4965442
No it’s still a problem and I now have firmware v1803. I agree that the sat nav is really poor if it will only display street names as being off-road!

If I remember correctly, you have V2 model? Is navigation the same as in VZ models? That must be some software issue related to non-VZ models.

Yes I have the V2, however I think people with VZ models are having the same issue, as are owners of other SEAT models.

I thought it might be related to the model. I haven't seen any other complaints about it on the forum. But as mentioned in other thread, the same happened in early demo car which was VZ2.

From logical point of view, some software must be missing, if nav is not able to resolve post codes and addresses. Unless it's faulty unit?

I don’t know. I’ve been told by my dealer that it is working normally!

They even said they had a demo car that did it. I’m just going to stick to using Apple/Google maps when in the car as they are better than the inbuilt sat nav.
