We have a Seat Cordoba 1.6 (1F) 1996/7 model in Tenerife (yes is has very good aircon!) and it has a standard radio cassette in it (all it has on it is '3101' and 'reverse' on it)

I already have a Sony MEX-BT3600U to go in it, I just need to know what leads I need?

I know I might need a radio booster cable or something, but not sure if I need an ISO cable??

Can anyone advise here?

Thanks in advance.

Weren´t there any iso plugs? If it was original radio with normal ISO plugs it will fith straight if you´re new radio got them too.

If not you should buy iso adapters.
Yellow wire should be remote, and red should be battery. Im not sure wich is earth-.

If you take pictures of wirings, it would help.

Dunno about where you are mate but it is dead simple. Just go to Halfords and tell them what you are swapping. There are a load of off the shelf leads that just plug in....did it when I took out original Seat cassette player on my Cordy.

Though I have to say I have put an original Seat system in my 1996 Cordy rebuild. I think the standard sound is excellent and I can tune radio in to an MP3 bluetooth for my Ipod!

Being a Sony it should fit straight on to the original plugs in the car.

I doubt that Halfords exists in Tenerife but if you need an ISO adapter for the Sony Stereo just use 'google shopping' and you'll find what you need.

Yep fitted fine....BUT.... after you turn the engine off, lock car and walk away, when you go back it has lost ALL channels and clock goes back to the first time you plug it in....

Any ideas?

Switch ignite and battery wires cross. I had to switch too at my alpine. Luckily it was easy with radio´s own ISO cables.

You get working power (and memory power) to your radio from ignite so it cuts off when you take key away and loses all saved things.

Thanks for that, it did say something about red and yellow wires having 2 slots in the crimping plug, so it looks like it is red for permanent feed and yellow for ignition feed, so I need to plug the yellow and red from the Head unit into the red double connector for the wiring... does that sound right?

No. Then your headunit is always on. Just switch the wires cross if that is possible. Then they should work properly. When you turn key it gives feed power so headunit starts.

My alpine had these kind of cables, i just switched red to go yellow and yellow to red.
