hi guys im new to this site i drive a mk3 ibiza cupra

ive got a bad taping on my car knocking possibly oil pick up blocked has any one had this problem before that can guide me in the right direction many thanks scott

and oil light comes on when oil is in car

i have had this happen to me before i 2 different cars,

1st the oil light comes on,

u check ur oil but its ok,

drive down the road and it goes bang!!!

i would be worried if i was u and i wouldnt drive the car because if u get it fixed before it goes bang then it will cost u less ,

everytime a car has blown up on me i have had theese exact symptoms,
usualuuy its because the oil is actually low, but it reads ok on ur dipstick because the oil isnt actually circulating to the bottom half of the engine only the top,

get it to a mechanic quik m8, could be headgasket or bottom end related but in my experience oil problems lead to bad things

As said above you have lost oil pressure, i'm sorry to say you will need a new engine mate . Also just for future reference what engine is it and how much service history?

its a 1.8 20v turbo engine code ayp what do u think new engine or a rebuild thanks scott

yes mate i will be geting it to mechanic as it sounds rough lol if i need new engine what sort ov prices will i be looking at also do seat main dealers make them still as i no golf and audi engines are not the same correct me if im wrong thanks for ur advices boys big help to me any more answers feel free as im stuck now lol
