Wanting to turn down my EGR on my 04 FR Seat Leon Tdi has anybody got Vag-Com in the Derby ish area?

Do not expect this for free so quote me happy.

Thanks All

Dave

Hi James

Thanks for the reply.

Am I correct that with VAG-COM you can turn down the EGR system?

Hi James

Again thank you for your reply I'm not a 100% positive either it's just what I have been told.

Will keep in touch thanks for the kind offer.

You can turn down the EGR on the MK1 Leon without any problems. Americans had the newer ECU with the PD150 whilst we still have the earlier ECU which can be altered.

Thanks Cordoda Lad

James Walker from Retford has a VAG-Com has offered but doesnt know how this is done, Can you shed any light on how this is done?

I have asked a local guy who remap's but he's not got back to me (Don't think he's interested).

Thanks in Anticipation

You need to go to Adaption in the engine module

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/tdi.html

f you follow the instructions in the ross tech walk through. I believe the reason they say you can't do it is because the ECU is EDC16 in America here in the UK we have EDC15 which the older non PD engines use so the modification can be done.

I've done this to mine and everything is working fine. But obvious Ross tech have put a health warning on this so you are sort of on your own if anything goes wrong.

Thanks for that certainly covers the issue just printed it out to take with me.

Have you had any issue's with the MOT since you changed your EGR or have you got an MOT pending?

MOT is in January I made the change March I think this year. But as you won't be emissions tested being a diesel only Soot then I can't see a problem doing this.
