No brake lights when applying handbrake

MOT is coming up so I thought I would do some checks beforehand.

I have noticed the brake lights are working fine for foot brake but not coming on when using the handbrake despite the brake light showing on the instrument panel.

What should I be looking at to fix this issue?

I think what 20vtmk1 is trying to say is the brake lights don't and never have worked with your handbrake, so nothing is needed to be done to fix it.....

stop winding him up lads, its probably the flux capacitor that's not working. Done a few of these on mk1 leons now, dealers usually stock them too.

Lol. Really annoys me when you get some knob (usually in an auto merc) sitting in front of you in stopped traffic who then decides to blind you for 10 minutes with his led brake lights cos he can't be bothered to lift his foot of the bloody pedal and use his bloody handbrake like everyone else.

I must have had a brainfart when I thought about checking it. Its the 3rd car I've owned and I've been driving for 9 years. At least its more entertaining than reading about yet another new "what mods/leaky doors/n249" thread.

Poor guy asks a question about the safety of his car and gets raped for it. Some of you lot need to seriously wind your necks in.

Oh come on, the OP got his answer within the first couple of posts..... then a bit of gentle p*ss taking... which he took in good stead.

To take your mind off it have a read of this - (nothing to do with anything but funny as)

if you don't wet yourself laughing within the first couple of minutes then you either have no idea's about cars or no sense of humour :D
