Noise when air con turned off

Hey guys i have a 2004 MKII Toledo.

recently there has been a whining/squealing noise when i turn off my Air Con, it seems to go with the revs, when the Air Con is on the noise stops but the Air Con doesn't seem to be cooling anymore either, both of these problems only started friday evening, any ideas? has anyone come across this before?

I faced similar problem in my Toledo's climatronic, it is due to the A/C gas in compressor which was very low!! I recently refilled my car's gas from my SEAT dealer, they told me to replace AC evaborator also.
I guess if you re-fill your car's AC gas than this problem would be sorted out.

I'd also check the automatic clutch for the AC is operating correctly.
