I am going through a similar situation, the oil cooler testing seems to be a difficult one. I saw a youtube vid that showed a fool proof way of testing was to take it off, put it in water and attach compressed air to inlet and watch for bubbles coming out of the unit.

doesnt that suggest that oil could have been coming out of the oil cooler?
