Not being a b@@@@@d but if I was to see you driving on the road I would have to pull you over and prohibit your car from driving any further on the public highway. At MOT they will fail you for them.

The police mind you will prosecute and you give you penalty points.

So basicly dont bother. Sorry buddy.:)

I have been driving my LCR for 2 years with "illegal" number plates. Never had any problems with the local constabulary!

Got mine from here http://www.a1stylegraphix.co.uk/default.asp?fuseaction=plates&sub_sect=preview

I have the microgramm font.

If I get stopped I would just plead ignorance and tell the officers that I was en route or returning from a show, hence the "show plates":banned:. Just an idea!:p

I mean lets face it if the local police are pulling you for number plates then they must either be a jobsworth or have sod all better to do with their time like catch real criminals!

Anway thats me had my rant for the day, I say go for it, number plates can really enhance the look of your LCR

As far as I know - an illegal plate is NOT an endorseable offence (you cannot get points for it). However you can get fined - and if you have repeat offences the number plate can get confiscated and you have to re-apply for a new registration mark from DVLA.

As a biker and knowing many others (all of us with 'slightly' small plates) - some are regularly stopped and reminded of the law. Many have received fines -- none have had points.

The reason the police are pulling in drivers with illegal number plates is that alot of criminals use them and so do terrorits. I think you will find that the car bomb that went off in Glasgow airport had a number plate that was easily misread so in turn the bomber was not caught before he drove his way to the airport on the ANPR cameras.

With this in mind then the whole of the police force are cracking down on them and like I said before at MOT now they can fail them and I can prohibit any vehicle with them on.

So you see the local police are not being a jobsworth they are doing there job, catching terrorists and criminals.

If you do not want the bother of being stopped then dont get them.

Thats my rant for the day!
