@Tony Tonic you were asking about OBD11 for the Tarraco.

Firstly the current OBD11 Dongle only supports Android.

The do have a new dongle that ships in August (for those who pre ordered it) but until later in the year this will only work on apps not full coding.

If you buy the Pro Licence and obd11 Dongle this enables you to follow other peoples coding to make changes to your car as well as apps, afraid i have a Leon so don't have a lot of information on your car.

Check out this thread for HBA http://obdeleven.proboards.com/thread/6345/high-beam-assist

If you download OBD11 And enter your vin number when you setup your account (this will cost you nothing) you will be shown all the apps that currently exist for your car, that does not mean they will work on your model as this is dependent on what hardware you have installed etc.

If you advise the guys on this forum what you are after hopefully somebody can confirm if you can use OBD11 to do this.

Thanks for the info. I have the iOS app downloaded and no apps are listed for the car VIN in my garage.
Probably best to wait a bit then. Or can I code it myself from the info in the thread? Or best wait for the new dongle for iOS ?

As with carista as its not mainstream yet they have not got round to building apps. With VCDS and OBD11 you can code the solution if you have the righthardware and sensors plus coding. Afraid i dont know your car so cant confirm if the above coding works on all cars. Hopefully somebody else on here will be able to confirm.

re ios at this stage you would not be able to do anything as it only works on apps till later in the year. i personally would wait and see what carista can do before buying another tool as you dont want to do a lot

I don't use the apps, better to use the programming option. The pro, 39-99 Euros.

I'd buy yourself a cheap Android tablet if you don't want to buy an Android phone with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi with Android 4.1. I see people have got it working on those Amazon sponsored Fire tablets.

http://forum.obdeleven.com/thread/1801/obdeleven-work-on-amazon-fire

Cheap tablet with the original dongle always worked out cheaper than buying VCDS for those that don't want to buy an Android phone or tablet who are iOS. Obviously a tablet has a bigger screen :). May not have a 4G option thou dependent on model.

4g is useful if you can't ride off the back of someone's Fon if you have BT. Living in the sticks with a big drive have a plug and socket router in the upstairs office to illuminate the front with wifi these days. All of my best Obdeleven work was done on other peoples Fon since I'm a Fonerian;).... imported into the UK. Dont think you can buy one now. You have to have BT but being on Virgin in London wanted to catch a ride on the Fon network outside of people homes I'd park outside :). How Fon works by sharing your broadband.

You need broadband via Wi-Fi or 4G. VCDS you need a laptop and broadband or / and a 4G dongle if no Wi-Fi. Costs are higher with the latter. Either way you need a connection to the car. Obdeleven is more portable.

Look at the Ateca thread on mods.

https://forums.seatcupra.net/index....f-activity-working-ones-for-the-ateca.438134/

Tarraco is only a bigger Ateca / Tiguan. Nothing too special on variations in turning things on and off. I'd look for Kodiaq mods but Ateca ones will be good unless you want to play with the lighting units which will be unique. Allspace is ofcource the VW version. VW people may not be your ideal modders, Skoda Kodiaq more so.

The build codes is the key to what you can do via a Vin lookup on the component modules. If you got lane assist you will be able to turn on traffic sign recognition. I wouldnt entertain changing any engine management things except stop start.

The German Ateca forum have spread their wings to the Tarraco, worth having a look:

https://www.ateca-forum.de/index.php?thread/5997-obdeleven-und-tarraco/

The Spanish Tarraco site hasn't got off the starting blocks yet:

https://www.clubseattarraco.com/threads/odbeleven.110/

Worth eyeballing this Kodiaq thread

https://www.kodiaqforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1150&sid=16e89feb05637fcab09bec4eab0c5602

& of course the other thing in all of this is reading the health of the car's systems even if you aren't changing anything.

Edit July 2020. I see the combined iOS / Android dongle has arrived with the Pro version across both platforms. The so called Next-gen. Been doing the "resource" on the Ateca side updating the text.

Hi all,

find below tried and tested Tarraco specific OBDEleven [OBD11] Adaptations. Saves you time going through other manufacturer threads and trialling many that don't work for the Tarraco.

I am an IT Consultant with a background in automotive and like to experiment, there are a few more I am testing currently (see bottom of the post), will update the list as and when they are confirmed as working. As always if any kind soul wants to test away, please do so and update accordingly, they will be added to the tried and tested section.

Good list.

With regard to SFD there are specific control units that are locked down as it rolls out across the Vag brand. Having identified which control units these are you can pen out the ones that aren't possible if you got one of the vehicles. Doing mods with the bonnet up is also a new way of working it appears with post 2020 models.

These control units are the ones people identify as locked down:

01 - engine electronics
09 - Electronic central electrics
19 - Diagnostic interface for data bus
5F - information electronics

High hopes on anything that includes those on the list are likely to be dashed.

On Leon 4s people have modded their dash... how they managed to do that since it wasn't on the list. The roll out may bring in other units. Experimentation and literature search is the order of the day if you got SFD on the car. Did read people had turned off stop / start which doesn't tally with the list.

Added a few more that I tested today, namely:
  • Tailgate (Middle) brake light confirmation of lock/unlock
  • Disable fuel cap lock while driving
  • Light Assist - Remember last setting
  • Adjust Steering Sensitivity during Start/Stop
  • Activate Carbon Background (Infotainment)
CH/LH with DRLs only is still elusive. Any assistance welcome. I have added the coding in the Testing section of the post.

  • Audi Engine Mode (Read the caveats carefully before applying)
Any tips on CH/LH with DRLs only welcome as it is proving a tricky one (coding in the Testing section of the mods post).

May be this one

I see from the Google Drive document he's into each of the lighting units so it's going to be Tarraco specific I guess with a bit of trial and error.

There is Tarraco one mentioned on the Google

It isn't a mod I've used but I've had a women knock the glass at me when I use to street park with the light on as I walked off 😂... miserable lot in London 🤗.

The VWVortex doc was my starting point.

I then picked up the SEAT Lighting channels from the Leon: https://forum.obdeleven.com/thread/2125/lighting-channels. Some channels don't apply to the Tarraco as it is LED only front/rear but I have included everything just in case.

The Tarraco mention is me on Tarracoforums as I maintain a mirror thread in case anyone stumbles on solutions there.

Allspace is another one to look for and Kodiaq. Will put it on the back burner.

It was bugging me so I figured it out in the end (and I can't make CH/LH with DRLs only work, yet, see below why).

When I am baffled I tend to put pen (or pencil for that matter) on paper to map functions and then transfer to diagrams and spreadsheets for posterity.

I used miceor's diagrammatic system as it looks cool and after poking and proding found that the Front DRLs/Indicators of the Tarraco are not managed via Leuchte progamming (as I couldn't find any that works). I am happy to stand corrected.

Amended Tarraco specific Lighting Reference to update the Front and a couple of units at the Rear.

As you can see, there doesn't seem to be any exposed functional Leuchte Programming for the Front Dipped Beam, Main Beam and DRLs/Indicators that look like they are controlled now by two distinct LED Modules (D6 and D7).

I confirmed when doing a Live Data capture where I could see the various settings change during operation but have no entries either under Adaptations or Long Coding which leaves only the Fog Lights to play with and that doesn't amount to much.

If anyone knows more kindly update, will be happy to test accordingly.

Traffic Sign Recognition Activation and High Beam Assist activation have been added (finally, I submitted them back in Jan 2021) as Apps to OBDEleven so you don't need Pro any more to configure them.

The only fly in the ointment is the price: 100 credits (£13.99) each, ouch.

With these two added the majority of mods in the mods post are also Apps for non Pro users.

I like the Pro... in the past some of their apps haven't been tested correctly so people use credits but it doesn't work. It's the sales speak of you can do this, that and the other on one push. Never used the apps... got over 400 points. Like Green Shield stamps I'll be able to get my Lone Star triple gauge set soon 😉. N gauge obviously.

Notice they are putting in an ambiguous pricing structure for the Pro. If you have it, you have it for life, but life time deals at a discount for those that miss the date, other than that annual. Cunning way to pay for SFD one suspects on 2020 post.
