Jesus stu, well my rev limit is 5500 thort that a bit low 4a petrol engin!

What.....? You sure you haven't got some kind of Diesel ECU!?

Reason for asking about the rev limit is because the 16v does just seem to rev and rev and rev, and without bouncing off the limiter I just wondered how near I was getting, and clearly still had quite a bit to go. As I said, the book figure is 134mph, which is the maximum speed the car ought to do out of the factory on a flat straight road, however bring in an incline and you can go a lot faster. Even my girlfriends Skoda Fabia 1.2 managed a GPS 114mph down the longest of European motorway downhill straights, and that's got a book figure of about 100mph.

No, I chucked the gearbox too, the 085 'box is like chocolate.

The engine was not an unknown to me, it was in my coupe, which when dyno'd had 165bhp (drilled airbox)

Just a drilled airbox gets 15bhp above standard!? Will be interesting to see the results at the Rolling road day a lot of us are attending on April 6th at D-Tech Performance. Should have a de-cat by then, already got Magnex and PiperX filter but I'd be happy just to make book figures!

Yeah its real crap,it just runs owt off breath, sayin that it give a kick and pulls real hard at 3200!as for the gearing i didnt realise it was a sort box!
