Oil can light on dash and engine has a buzz

Hi all, im new but i would appreciate any help or advice.
Recently the Oil can light came up on the dash, the oil level is fine.
I crawled home, as it was not far and now there is a buzzing noise coming from the front of the engine. The coolant level is fine and the engine seems to be ok.

Scan it with vcds carista or obdeleven to get possible codes which it will have if you got lights appearing. if your oil is OK possibly a faulty sensor if its a yellow oil can, but if its red that's oil pressure.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up taking it to my local garage and it turned out to be the oil filter. They said it had been sucked in and oil was struggling to get to the top of the engine. Everything seems to be fine now.

That's an odd thing to happen, great to update the thread with a cause and solution.

Must of been the wrong oil filter element installed. Never heard of one being “sucked in” before
