Oil change service message

I've been getting this popping up the last few weeks as I approach 10,000 miles since the last service and now its down to 200 miles until oil change service, is this message just to remind me that I need to take it for a service or does it actually need an oil change?

I was also planning on going to 12,000 though, due to alot of recent costs spent on the car.

If the car is still covered by a warranty - you should have it serviced as recommended.
If it is not under warranty - you can do as you please - it will just keep reminding you until you switch it off.
If 12000 is your chosen service schedule - you could code that in to the car using VCDS or OBDeleven

Hi Deano, do you know how to switch it off on a 22plate model? Every video i have seen shows the older style with a button to reset,

22 plate would be a MK4
