Hi all
i seem to have developed an oil leak on my V5 ,but cant really find the source,it seems to be from the front of the engine block, certainley higher than the sump gasket and oil filter which were my 2 immediate suspects, there is so little room to have a look even with the engine undertray removed. All i can see are some pipes above and behind the alternator but no idea what is lurking up there, anyone any ideas or diagrams of what might be in that area? Have cleaned off but reappears after a day or so,its not pouring out, just the odd drip but i cant imagine it will get any better on its own!:(

Hears hoping

Regards

Dave

had same problem couldnt see where exactly was coming from so just kept wiping sump and checking oil
took car for new clutch and it turned out to be crankshaft oil seal
only £20 ish for the part but box out to do the job

thats what i was getting at;)
had suspected it to be crank seal but didnt fancy takin box out just for a daft seal
they found it while doing my clutch which they said was lucky not to be getting contaminated by the oil leaking into the fly wheel area
anyhow clutch changed and no leaks anymore jobs a good un:D
