Oil light + 3 Beeps

Right after removing the aircon i started the car went for a drive.

Straight away as soon as i went above 2000 rpm the light came on and 3 loud beeps


So i read up on here and every one said strainer blocked.


So i removed the sump and found the strainer had some peices of dipstick plastic in it.


Put it all back together sump and strainer all cleaned out.

new oil and filter.


Problem is the oil light still comes on and beeps over 2000 rpm.

next thing to do is change the sensor but how many are there?


also any other advise?

‎11 – Engine oil pressure/
level
The warning light lights up for a few seconds
as a functional check when the ignition
is switched on.
If the warning lamp is red or yellow or
flashes it indicates that the engine oil
pressure or level is too low. This warning
lamp will also light up if there is a defect
in the oil level indicator.
If lights up or flashes red
(insufficient oil pressure)
Should the warning light flash or light up
while driving you will also hear three
times an acoustic warning as soon as the
engine runs at over 1500 r.p.m. You must
stop the car and turn the engine off: check
the oil level and top up if necessary. See
the "Engine oil" chapter.
If the warning lamp flashes even though
the oil level is in order, do not continue
driving. Do not even run the engine at
idling speed. Call in expert assistance.
If while driving the engine speed decreases
below idling speed the oil pressure
warning lamp may light up. Increase
engine speed by accelerating or changing
down gear.

Any ideas if you need to disconect the battery to reset it ?

If that doesnt work ill get a switch tomoz.

Well fittecd a brand new oil switch.

Still does the same.

Any ideas folks.


I know i need to check the pressure but i dont have a guage

2 things come to mind oil pick up blocked or oil pump is actually gone or going

Well i earthed the oil pressure switch wire and it does exactly the same so it would possibly mean a break in the wiring somewhere

But i cannot trace the wire back atall.

very rare its the oil pressure switch thats faultys , more commom oil pick up being block especially on higher mileage cars

well seeing as i have earthed the wire going to the switch to ground the dash light should thing that there is oil pressure as that is how the switch works

When the oil pressure rises enough it closes the sontacts and creats an earth.

Problem sorted

Was a broken wire behind the dash.

ahh well all that for a wire .


At least it got a clean strainer new switch and an oil service
