cool, i had to visit bradistan tonight to see the outlaws, the old man is in hospital so attempt this again on tuesday - if i can get away from the wife!

guys, i managed to fit the adaptor and the sender - no leaks from there but did have a leak putting the old sensor back on so undid it and put some ptfe tape (i think - normally used on copper pipes for joins) and the leak has stopped. i am ok doing this? also i did try and tighten as much as possible, i take it this is ok too?

thanks

PTFE tape should be ok you would just need to watch as if this gets into the oil system wouldnt be good for the car. You can get a paste which is PTFE based and is less likely to cause any harm. Use this offshore due to problems if tape gets into compressors etc.

Hi guys.

Just bumping a old thread. I've had my oil pressure gauge in the car for ages , but just never got round to plumbing it in. All I've got is wires out the back and nothing else. What's this adapter thing I need? Where can I get one. Also I've looked at the picture that was taken on here and I've got nothing that looks like that.
Would love to get this working if possible , so all help would be great .

Thanks in advance

Where can you get the thread adapter for the sender unit?
Ideally I want to try and get this fitted tomorrow so if anywhere knows a shop or anything rather than online then please let me know.
Could always use some links to places online if I can't get one local.

sorry to bump an old thread but, ive bought a motor meter racing oil pressure gauge and to say the least its not very informative on the fitting side of things, there is a sender unit with two contacts one reads g and the other reads wk??? Im thing g must stand for gauge but dont know what the wk stands for, if i want to keep the standard oil pressure light on aswell as the new gauge how is this done??
also does anybody have any pics of there 1/8npt x 1/8npt x M10x1.0 t-peice fitted as i cant see where to fit it on my car (LCR 03)
any help appreciated

At a guess the G will stand for ground (my sender needs grounding) and the WT will be for the gauge but thats a guess as mine is the autogauge one so may be different.

Does anyone have a link to where I could buy an 1/8npt to M10x1.0 adapter or the above mentioned t-piece please. I've got everything else fitted except the sender :(

Just a question the two (above) circled places to take the oil from are they the same size? The one on the right looks a lot bigger? Both M10x1.0?

yep, they are the same size. the one on the right looks bigger as the connector is bigger on the outside. its where i have mine fitted.

Sorry, me again, I might be just confusing myself but I'm trying to work out the whole 1/8 NPT and M10 fitments.

As suggested before I want to use a T piece on the OEM pressure switch sensor output (right one on the pics above). Pretty sure the gauges I want have 1/8NPT sender units.

Can someone confirm that I want the 1/8NPT X 1/8NPT X M10X1.0 T piece? Surely the T piece should be M10x1.0 (male) x 1/8NPT (female) x M10x1.0 (female) ?? Also if the sensor output on the left is M10 then do I need a M10 x 1/8NPT adapter in that one?

Not great on the whole bolt threads etc. Does a M10 bolt fit in a 1/8NPT (female thread) because if it does then it will make more sense.

you want the m10 male (to fit into the engine itself)
an m10 female off one of the T's (to fit the existing oil pressure switch into)
and 1/8NPT female (For the new sender unit youre putting it)

Whetheror not that T-piece exists im not sure

a 1/8NPT thread can be forced into the M10 thread but its not ideal... i did however buy a 1/8NPT tap, and retapped the threads in the filter housing to 1/8NPT and thus meant i could tighten my new sender straight in without any adapters

this is the type of thing you need http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/REMOTE-T-PIEC...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item20b9c4dee8

Cheers Ibiza 95 - I've ordered: The M10 (male) to M10 (female) and 1/8 NPT (female) T piece. I've also ordered a thread adapter M10 (male) to 1/8 NPT (male) - I guess the M10 male to 1/8 NPT female doesn't exist because it's too similar. Finally I ordered a 1/8 NPT (female) to 1/8NPT (female) coupler.
