So i was out to Liverpool this weekend and i noticed while on the motorway at higher speeds my oil temp was dropping from 90 to what it seemed to be a stable 72 or so
It would be ur coolant temp as there is no oil temp gauge unless u have fitted one. More air over the rad means more heat exchange meaning cooler temps. Wouldn't have thought it would have that much of an influence tho. I'd just keep an eye on it, running cool isn't a problem, it's if it starts over heating that you need to worry
Cool running is a problem when these engines are most efficient when warm. The coolant temp should happily sit just above 90 regardless of driving speed.
I had my thermostat replaced today with new fluid sorted my problem out now sits quickly at 90c after 3 mins of driving better than when i first had it.
midland vw charged 2 hours plus stat plus fluid £140 part was only £27
