Hi anyone reading this:

I've just taken a new job and don't think I'll ever need this again. It may be for sale. It's a bit of renovation job for sure: got Koni springs and RS4 wheels. Still got original wheels and springs in the garage.

Would anyone be interested and at what price?

Thanks,

Jon

This thread is 3 yrs old...did you ever get it running or has it now sat untouched for 7 yrs?

Wouldn't touch it if it's been sitting still for 7 years, engine is probably seized, I'd sell it as parts mate, don't think you will get much for it after it been sitting for that long

Yes, that would be the case.

If you could get it running you'll stand a better chance of selling it, but you really would need to drain all fluids and give it a overhaul.

I'd sell it as spare or repairs and cut your losses, it's not going to be worth much as it'll be a MASSIVE gamble as to whether it's worth sorting out or not.

It'll need new tyres, fluids, belts, W/Pump, filters etc etc...

Agree with above, I'd sell it as spares or repairs or strip it and then skip it

I predominantly use the car groups on Facebook these days for buying and selling parts but other than than that theres obviously eBay and Gumtree.

Well I'd probably start by gauging interest on here in the sale section, with a very honest description and make it picture heavy.

eBay is okay but the charges are ridiculous these days, give gumtree a go as it's free.

And stick a sign in the window, I'd wager there has been someone walking past it everyday wondering what's happening with it and is interested. You never know?

You can do it on eBay and just have collect only, if you have no car knowledge as them to take the parts off they need and they will get pats cheaper

Just bought an new S3, so this definitely needs to go. If anyone has any decent offers, I'll take the top offer as long as you tell my parents you paid more for it. I'll get some pictures in the next few weeks.

Pictures - best offer gets it.

OK so after another incredible amount of time I have finally found time to go home and get some pictures. I will also make a quick for sale section ad and link it to here:
- Leon 1.6 S 8v (sold as seen, no returns),
- Been stood since 2009 (don't ask...)
- Car is fitted with 18" original RS4 Audi wheels (18" 225s) and an expertly fitted LCR Splitter,
- Door cards are off and in the boot (because one Christmas I removed the panels and waterproofed the leaky seals issue. They will need refitting but it's a very minor job. I didn't do it in the past in case the sealing needed redoing - as it happened it was bang on,
- Some minor surface mould in the car but this happened in the past but once dry it just vacuums off,
- Car is fitted with 40mm drop Koni springs,
- Brakes have definitely had it. It would need new discs and pads all round. Rear handbrake will almost certainly need some attention too.
- Original wheels and tyres and springs included in the price,
- Obviously not tax or MOT (or outstanding finance ha ha),
- Buyer collects from near St Ives, Cambridgeshire. You'll need a truck or lots of spinach,
- Pay agreed price on collection (cash) to my Dad.

To be honest, my Dad and I are reasonably mechanically minded and with a change of fluids, a clean, and some reasonably minor mechanical work and the right "back into service" process it will probably be alright. Got service history, log book and at least one key. However, this car comes with no warranty of any sort.

The wheels are original and in alright condition so they are worth £250 or so by themselves or more if you got the worst curbings repaired, plus then some cash for the actual car - maybe someone can break it for spares or repairs. Would like to get some sort of offer and done deal in the next few weeks. I've an amount in mind but am fairly flexible.

Any questions please do ask and I shall do my best to answer them. See pictures in the online gallery below:

Will try and find a picture of what it looked like in its prime...watch this space...

What do you think it's worth then.

The car itself is not worth much, given its stood and will more than likely have a host of unknown problems.

If the jobs are so easy to sort on it, then why don't you get it sorted and cleaned?

Posting pictures of a moldy car stood in overgrown weeds is not going to sell for any kind of decent price, does the engine run?

Clean it, put the door cards back on, get it running and then you can probably double the money you're asking for it.
