Anybody else having a problem with their offside front electric windows? The one-touch close operation seems to only work on occassions for me (like once out of every 20 times), so I have booked the car in to have it looked at (4 week wait to get a courtesy car!).

Lee,

My one-touch operation at both sides is easily confused (i.e if I've moved the window around a bit it often won't then fully open or close on one-touch mode)

Can't get my one touch close to work now! Windows stop whenever I release the switch. Aaaarrh! Am I missing something here or is it a dealer jobbie ?

Also, the manual mentions that the vanity mirrors in the fold down sun visors light up when the covering slider door is opened. Mine don't - does anyone elses ?

hmmm. Weird English - had to check it out for myself! Just been out to the car to try it again (with lights on etc) and no joy. Maybe I'll get it fixed under warranty together with my foldy mirrors

On the VW Passat (which has the same sun visors), the vanity lights are mounted on the headlining. When you slide the mirror cover open, the lamp illuminates. Neat.

Don't think any Leon has them though.

My Leon Cupra V6 has the vanity mirrors. You should know that when they mention that a lamp will illuminate. But it's NOT the lamps over the rearview mirror. It's seperate. Just above the visor, mounted in the ceiling. As soon as you slide open the visor cover you feel a little detent as the slide flicks a switch inside and the lamp goes on. If you don't have this lamp in the ceiling, forget it.

The pax side of my car didn't work in the beginning so I returned it to the dealer and the fixed it at no cost. Anything that happend to the car inside of 2 years that is not my fault, I get fixed for free, including all regular servicing......kinda neat.

If it's the same as the Ibiza -

When you disconnect the battery/have a power glitch reset the windows by putting them both all the way down then hold the switch to make them go up one at a time. Keep the switch held up for a couple of seconds when the window reaches the top and then try the one touch. Worked for me every time.

Cheers

Nice one djawol, it only bloody works! Still, it's booked in to be seen by the dealer, still have to sort noise from boot and squeeky passenger seat, but splendid, my windows are working again (until the next time!)

Just tried the windows again, not working! Did the magic trick, working again. As far as I am concerned, that's bust and needs fixing!

Well it was worth a go. Sounds like they don't have a "memory" of the settings, when you switch off it must forget. Definite fault.

Never mind, at least it worked for a bit!

Tried the "reset" jobbie again and still no joy - boo!

Also, the passenger window doesn't power wind all the way down, the top part of the window is left showing and has to be pushed down by hand for the final 2cm or so.

Must work for some and not others! Saw the squeeky seat solution a few weeks back and emptied a sizeable proportion of my WD40 can into it, thinking I'd cured it. Boasted to my wife that I was once again a top car mechanic (having fixed a squeeky clutch pedal - what a star:D ) only for it to squeek the very first time she sits in it:rolleyes:

Oh, and the car stank for days

I will see what Great Covert in Southampton can do for it in a week or so, fingers crossed.

PS the blimmin electric windows seem to work EVERY SINGLE TIME my wife is driving, and the squeeky passenger seat shuts up:confused:
