I know this topic has been covered before, but I thought I wold ask the advice of some other wise people on this forum.

I have been and looked at a few Leon Cupras, and finally found two I like. They are both the same price, but one is a 52 plate (facelift) Cupra (Silver). The other is a 03 plate Cupra R (210).

Now I much prefer the Cupra R BUT it has had a bonnet respray, which means it looks far cleaner/brighter than the sides? Should I run a mile, or should I not need to worry. Can it be sorted? There appears to be some confusion between the comments on here.

Also, if I did get it, and wanted a professional to do some colour restoration. Anyone know how much it would cost (roughly), and recommend someone in the South East (Surrey).

Mechanically it is sound, and I guess a previous owner has had the bonnet resprayed because of stone chips:doh:

I really need to ring the seller asap to offer, if I am going to:confused:

Thanks for any help you can give,

not entirely,

the yellows are well noted for fading under the clear coat. this is prob the case, my lcr has done it too and no matter how much its machine polished it will not bring the colourback up

sorry

Thanks for your post. I suspected as much, which is a shame. As it is mainly only the bonnet I have decided to progress with the purchase. I am going to give the car a good clean, and then see how the other panels come up. Hopefully it just needs a good scrub, but I suspect it is a more serious problem with the paintwork.

Otherwise, I will have to wait til the paint fades, or respray the bonnet fading into the wings, or change the bonnet.

I got a good price on the car though due to the fault, so will be looking at avenues to rectify the problem.
