Hi mate, looks good. my FL cupra has them standard, but I have been tempted to change their colour. What do you guys think of orange, yellow , green or blue? Red looks great, can't go wrong it, but can seem a bit typical, almost common.

Yeah red is fairly common color on those, but seems to work.
I thought about painting them with race orange, but they would stand out way too much.
Orange and black goes together nicely but that needs a lot of orange almost 50/50 ratio of both.
And if you do that I think it needs some other parts made with same color for them to blend in. if you catch my drift. like some vinyls or pin stripes etc.
You still havent said how you painted them. On or off car? Used primer? If so which? Brush or aerosol for the hammerite smooth? Degreaser/sanded etc first?
There is no need to take them off for painting. Well if you want to make absolute perfection that nobody will notice then you must take them off.
Clean with brakecleener and use steel brush and sand paper to crub surface clean.
And I would advice to use 2 component paint and brush it on. It will smooth out and it wont leave any brushmarks on the caliber.
Do not use anykind of spray, they wont last so long and are much messier to apply.
I did mine off the car on my scooby. I tried brush on originally but never quite went on well enough due to contours of caliper so I stripped it again and sprayed it instead, went on effortlessly
