Opinions please on engines, 1.2 TSi and 1.6TDi and new finance plan

Ok, have arranged a test drive of both types over the Christmas break. He still offers me the FR for a spin too, I probably should avoid that as then everything else will feel slow and crap in comparison. Might have a look at the 2010 Exeo Style, though it's a diesel..
So, to get back to the point of the original post, do either of the two engines mentioned (1.2 TSI and 1.6TDI) have any ability to be remapped, for a small bit more poke? I'm not looking for Cupra R performance, just a little extra. If the 1.4TSI was still available here I'd have it in a heartbeat. I am leaning to the petrol thanks to above posts.
