Ordering an induction kit

Evening All,

Thinking about ordering an induction kit for my LCR, I've searched and read the 'what does your car suck on' thread - really good info :).

I'm thinking of ordering the K n N 57i gen 1 kit for the LCR, just wondering if there is anything else I need before ordering the kit? (apart from the oil breather filter - not sure where to get them from but i'll have a search)

I've looked at the airbox and can see the MAF is connected to the original airbox by some screws, will I still be able to connect the MAF to the new kit or do I need something else?

Any info or advice much appreciated, specially by anyone who has/had the kit.:D

Many Thanks, Alex

I would'nt buy an oil coated filter, You will also suck in a lot of hot air with an open filter.

If you buy a filter that is made for your car then it should have all the bit's for the MAF to fit too.

Have you looked into moding your O/E airbox ??? it's a lot cheaper with just as good gains to be had.

Well the thing is I - like a lot of people I've read about on here - would like a bit more noise from the induction kit/DV without it being too over the top. Can a smoothed/drilled airbox make that much more noise?

If your after a lot of noise and worried about heat have you seen the Jabba Sport induction kits? Not the cheapest, but excellent kits! :D

That looks really good DK, great job. I think I might get a panel filter and smooth/drill the airbox. Thanks for the advice everyone!

High flow panel will cost about £40, Feed pipe about £10, So this will cost a lot less than an induction kit. Plus if you dont like it you could sell the panel on here and then get an open filter.
