Most of the time on unlit roads there are other vehicles coming towards you or driving in front of you which means my dipped beams are on most of the time and I found that the MTEC's lit the road up less than standard bulbs, which is why they are now on a shelf in my garage gathering dust and where replaced by Bosch Pure Light bulbs which outperformed both Night Breakers and X-Treme vision in the 2010 Which test.I've read this before, however i firmly believe the MTECs provide better visibility than the standard bulbs, but not as good as the nightbreaker plus'.
However, for standard town driving they do the job extremely well, chances are if youre out on a country road and can't see, you would put full beam on anyway, no matter what bulbs you have in!
Maybe thats just me... For £13, its gotta be worth a pop at them!

The Bosch Pure Lights are great bulbs for illuminating the road but not if you want the HID look.
