outside temp/ air con faulty HELP

The temp on the outside temp is reading at least 10 degrees below normal, it is about 3 at the mo when it is really around 15. The frost sign is on the display and therefore a/c won`t cut in so it`s hot inside.
I have serched and picked up a new temp sensor today from seat, plugged in and it reads the same temp???? Switched back and forth, both are the same??
Can you adjust the readings or does anyone else have any ideas? I phoned Seat they don`t know but will vag-com it for £23 to diagnose the fault IF it can be found.

Any ideas??

Thats what I have tried today it has made no difference at all. Both temp senders read the same wrong temp. I doubt the new one would be faulty AND read the same temp, it would be too much a coincidence. It must be something else.
(The car is a 2001 tdi sport with climate)

try disconnectiing the battery to reset it, then try ur new temp sensor, ive found that it took awhile to settle down if that makes any sense lol other than that i'd say get it on vagcom to check for any faults
